Belgian artist Tamara Van San (°1982, Antwerp) experiments with all kinds of non-classical materials and shapes in vivid hues. In her work she plays a spontaneous and intuitive game with basic sculptural elements such as volume, shape and color. Van San is working on a generous and exuberant oeuvre that has gradually found its way into the medium of ceramics. The interplay between the whimsical shapes and the colored glaze layers evokes an illusion of movement. Van San seeks the unknown as well as challenging forms and a certain strangeness, always deviating from the norm.
