Jot Fau (BE, 1987) is a Brussels-based multidisciplinary artist whose work moves between sculpture, installation, clothing, assemblage, photography and performance.
Her practice explores questions of identity, transformation and survival. Working intuitively with discarded materials and everyday objects, Fau creates sculptural environments that echo a fragile, domestic universe constantly in need of repair, care, and reimagining.
Beds, garments, carpets and shelters appear as traces of lived experience. They carry stories, memories, and previous lives, becoming both protective layers and emotional armour. Through these gestures, her work navigates between vulnerability and resilience, between disappearance and renewal.
Fau’s pieces often emerge from chance encounters with found materials that have already lived, resulting in site-sensitive works shaped by time, use and transformation. Her practice is driven by an openness to what remains and what might still emerge.
