Canapé represents a community of young artists committed to connection, mutual support, co-creation, and creative expression. With a deep-rooted awareness that today’s art scene often falls short in terms of inclusivity, the collective aims to create space for voices that have historically been marginalized or underrepresented.
During the talk, the artists will discuss their journey since their founding in November 2023, their experiences organizing salons and artistic events and the challenges as well as opportunities they encounter along the way. They share their vision, experiences and quest for a more inclusive and accessible art world.
Since February 2025, Canapé has been based in Villa Canapé, a dynamic new artist hub located in Laeken. Developed in collaboration with Kunsthumaniora Brussel and the GO! School Group, this former school building has been transformed into an open studio, residency space, and meeting point for emerging artists and creative collectives.
